Building robots that can perform real-world industrial tasks remains one of the biggest challenges in automation. While advances in robotics continue to reshape manufacturing, many companies still face difficulties in training machines to work reliably in changing environments. German startup MicroAGI aims to address this challenge through a data-driven approach. The company has now secured $55 million in seed funding, providing fresh capital to expand its robotics deployment platform and accelerate its global growth.

Hummingbird Leads the Funding Round

Munich-based MicroAGI announced that it has raised $55 million in seed funding in a round led by Hummingbird. Existing and new investors participating in the round include Northzone, LocalGlobe, Village Global, and redalpine.

The company said the funding will support the continued development of its robotics deployment platform and help expand its international operations. According to multiple industry reports, the financing has been described as Germany’s largest seed funding round.

Building Data Infrastructure for Robotics

Founded in 2025, MicroAGI develops technology that supports the deployment of industrial robots through large-scale data infrastructure. The company focuses on collecting, organizing, and processing real-world data that can improve how robots learn and perform physical tasks.

According to MicroAGI, its platform is designed to bridge the gap between robotics software and real-world industrial environments by creating high-quality datasets for robotic systems. The company believes that better data is essential for improving the performance and reliability of physical AI applications.

Global Presence Supports Expansion

Although headquartered in Munich, Germany, MicroAGI has established an international presence with offices in Zurich, London, Istanbul, and New York. The company continues to build teams across these locations as it expands its robotics platform and supports customers in multiple markets.

MicroAGI says its mission is to develop the infrastructure needed for the next generation of industrial robotics by making data collection and deployment more efficient.

Founder Brings Engineering Experience

MicroAGI was founded by Bercan Kilic, who previously worked as a Formula One aerodynamicist before launching the company. His engineering background has influenced the company’s focus on solving practical challenges in robotics through scalable data systems rather than relying solely on advances in robot hardware.

The company is developing Atlas, its robotics data and deployment platform, to help improve how robots are trained and deployed in industrial settings.

Looking Ahead

With the new funding, MicroAGI plans to continue expanding its robotics deployment platform while growing its international operations. The investment will enable the company to further develop its data infrastructure and support the wider adoption of industrial robotics.

As manufacturers increasingly look for reliable automation solutions, companies that build the underlying infrastructure for robotics are attracting growing investor attention. MicroAGI’s latest funding marks an important milestone for the young company as it works to strengthen the data foundation needed for the next generation of industrial robotics.
