Medical diagnostics company Ozelle announced that its EHBT-50 Mini Lab received a Gold Award at the 2026 German Innovation Awards, an international program recognizing innovation across healthcare, technology, sustainability, and industrial sectors.
The award was presented during the ceremony held in Berlin on May 12. The annual awards program is organized by the German Design Council, which stated that the 2026 competition included entries from companies and organizations across 23 countries.
EHBT-50 Mini Lab Targets Decentralized Testing
According to Ozelle, the EHBT-50 Mini Lab was developed to support blood testing in decentralized healthcare environments outside traditional centralized laboratories.
The compact platform combines hematology, biochemistry, and immunoassay testing into a single system intended for use in clinics, emergency departments, and near-patient care settings.
The company said the analyzer incorporates digital morphology analysis technology designed to assist with blood cell evaluation. Ozelle also stated that the system includes a 4-megapixel optical imaging platform and software intended to support diagnostic workflow efficiency.
Focus on Workflow and Accessibility
Ozelle said the EHBT-50 uses cartridge-based testing with room-temperature reagents, which the company states can help reduce maintenance requirements and limit dependence on cold-chain storage infrastructure.
The company added that the platform was designed for healthcare environments seeking compact diagnostic systems capable of supporting faster testing workflows outside large laboratory facilities.
Healthcare Innovation Remains Key Theme
The German Innovation Awards highlighted healthcare technology and digital innovation among the major themes during the 2026 evaluation process.
Industry interest in decentralized diagnostic systems has continued to grow as healthcare providers seek faster testing capabilities and expanded access to diagnostic services in outpatient and remote care environments.
Ozelle said the recognition reflects the company’s focus on integrated diagnostic technologies and the continued expansion of compact laboratory systems in global healthcare markets.
