NTT DATA has signed a definitive agreement to acquire WinWire, a Microsoft-focused digital engineering company, as demand for enterprise artificial intelligence and cloud transformation services continues to grow across industries.
The announcement was confirmed through official statements released by both companies. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition will strengthen NTT DATA’s Microsoft Cloud business by adding more than 1,000 Azure engineers, cloud specialists, and AI professionals from WinWire to its global operations. The move is expected to help NTT DATA expand its capabilities in AI-powered enterprise solutions, cloud modernization, and data engineering.
WinWire, headquartered in Santa Clara, is known for helping businesses build and deploy cloud-native applications, modernize enterprise infrastructure, and develop AI solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. The company also specializes in agentic AI, which focuses on systems capable of performing complex business tasks with limited human intervention.
Growing Demand for Enterprise AI
The acquisition comes as companies worldwide increase spending on enterprise AI platforms and cloud infrastructure. Large organizations are now moving beyond pilot AI projects and focusing on full-scale implementation of AI tools that improve operations, automate workflows, and support faster business decisions.
According to NTT DATA, the addition of WinWire’s expertise will help clients accelerate AI adoption and scale Microsoft Azure-based solutions more effectively.
Abhijit Dubey, CEO and Chief AI Officer of NTT DATA, said the agreement represents an important step in advancing the company’s enterprise AI strategy and strengthening its leadership in AI-powered cloud transformation.
Dubey added that many enterprises are now looking for trusted partners that can help turn early AI experiments into production-ready business solutions.
Strengthening Microsoft Partnership
WinWire is a long-time Microsoft solutions partner with deep expertise in Azure cloud services, AI engineering, and enterprise data platforms. The company is also part of Microsoft’s Agentic Partner Alliance Program.
Stephen Boyle, Corporate Vice President of Enterprise Partner Solutions at Microsoft, said experienced implementation partners are becoming increasingly important as enterprises seek to unlock the full value of AI technologies on Microsoft Azure.
WinWire was founded in 2007 by Ashu Goel, who currently serves as the company’s chief executive officer. Following the completion of the transaction, Goel will continue leading the business within NTT DATA’s broader ecosystem.
The acquisition remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and standard closing conditions.
The deal further highlights how global IT services companies are increasing investments in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and enterprise automation as competition in the digital transformation market continues to intensify.
