Recur Software Completes FLAGS Acquisition

Recur Software announced that it has completed the acquisition of FLAGS Software. Based in Solihull, England, FLAGS develops software for manufacturers that need to manage quality and production processes in demanding manufacturing environments. FLAGS’ software is designed to capture production and quality information at the point where products are manufactured. This gives companies greater visibility into their production processes and creates a digital record of manufacturing activity.

The company serves manufacturers across industries including automotive, aerospace, rail, marine and recreational vehicles. Its software has been used in production environments associated with major manufacturers including Jaguar Land Rover, Aston Martin, Bentley Motors and Harley-Davidson.

Focus on Quality and Production Data

FLAGS has built its reputation around quality management and production control. Its platform captures information from the manufacturing floor and helps companies track the quality of products as they move through production.

This information can help manufacturers identify quality problems earlier and maintain better traceability throughout their operations. For companies producing complex products, having accurate production and quality information can be important for maintaining consistency and controlling manufacturing processes.

Recur Software said FLAGS operates at the intersection of quality and production throughput. The company sees the data generated during manufacturing as an important resource for improving how manufacturers understand and manage quality.

Recur Plans Further Product Investment

The acquisition is also expected to bring additional investment into the FLAGS platform. Recur Software plans to support product development while helping FLAGS expand into new sectors and international markets. One area of focus will be artificial intelligence capabilities. According to the announcement, Recur and FLAGS plan to make greater use of manufacturing data to help identify potential quality issues before they become larger problems.

Charlie Serota, Co-Founder of Recur Software, said FLAGS has an important position between quality and production throughput. He also pointed to the value of the information collected directly where products are manufactured. The planned investment is intended to build on FLAGS’ existing capabilities rather than move away from the platform that its customers already use.

FLAGS Will Continue Operating From Solihull

Following the acquisition, FLAGS will continue to operate from Solihull with the team its customers know and trust. Alexander Thomson is set to become the incoming CEO of FLAGS.

Thomson said the company plans to maintain the reliability of its existing platform while continuing to improve the product and make it more useful to manufacturers. Keeping the existing team and operations in place provides continuity for FLAGS customers as the business enters its next phase under Recur Software.

A New Stage of Growth for FLAGS

The acquisition gives FLAGS an opportunity to expand its reach while continuing to build on its experience in manufacturing software. Recur Software, which acquires and grows industry-specific software businesses, plans to use its resources to support FLAGS’ product development and broader market expansion.

For manufacturers, the focus will remain on quality, production visibility and traceability. As Recur invests in new capabilities, FLAGS will also look to use manufacturing data more effectively and explore additional opportunities across global markets. The acquisition therefore marks a new stage for FLAGS Software, combining its established manufacturing technology with Recur Software’s plans for product investment and international growth.
