Industrial companies continue to look for smarter ways to improve equipment reliability, strengthen inspection processes, and manage critical assets more effectively. In a move to enhance its Asset Performance Management (APM) software portfolio, Prometheus Group has acquired the business assets of VisualAIM. The acquisition adds advanced mechanical integrity, inspection workflow optimization, and intelligent drawing capabilities to the company’s growing platform, helping customers better manage industrial assets throughout their lifecycle.
Prometheus Group Expands APM Portfolio with VisualAIM
Prometheus Group announced that it has acquired the business assets of VisualAIM, a software provider specializing in Mechanical Integrity, Inspection Workflow Optimization, Intelligent Drawings, and Industrial Asset Management. The acquisition closed on July 30, 2026, while the announcement was made on August 5, 2026. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company said the acquisition strengthens its Asset Performance Management platform by adding capabilities that help organizations manage inspection programs, maintain engineering information, and support mechanical integrity initiatives.
VisualAIM Adds Advanced Inspection and Mechanical Integrity Capabilities
VisualAIM’s software is designed to help industrial organizations manage critical inspection and mechanical integrity processes. Its platform enables users to manage inspection history, corrosion logic, remaining-life calculations, condition monitoring locations, and risk-based inspection planning. It also supports non-destructive testing (NDT) workflows and aligns with API 580 and API 581 standards for risk-based inspection.
The platform also includes Intelligent Drawings that connect engineering drawings with asset records and operational information, giving maintenance and engineering teams easier access to important asset data. These capabilities will now become part of Prometheus Group’s Asset Performance Management offering.
Integration with RapidAPM Strengthens Asset Visibility
According to Prometheus Group, VisualAIM’s technology will integrate with RapidAPM, the company’s predictive analytics solution. By combining predictive analytics with mechanical integrity and inspection management, the company aims to provide customers with a more connected view of asset performance.
The combined platform is intended to support maintenance, engineering, inspection, and operations teams by bringing together asset information within a unified software environment.
Company Leaders Highlight Strategic Benefits
Jeff Kinard, Chief Technology Officer at Prometheus Group, said VisualAIM’s capabilities complement the company’s vision for enterprise Asset Performance Management. He noted that integrating VisualAIM’s mechanical integrity and intelligent drawing technologies with RapidAPM will provide customers with a better way to view the full asset lifecycle while improving inspection management and engineering information.
Brendan Meutzner, founder of VisualAIM, said joining Prometheus Group will allow the company to preserve its practical, field-focused approach while giving customers access to a broader global platform. He added that the combination will help organizations improve mechanical integrity, inspection programs, and operational reliability.
Supporting Process Industries
Prometheus Group said the combined solution is designed for organizations operating in industries such as oil and gas, chemicals, energy, manufacturing, and other process industries, where reliable asset performance and effective inspection management play a critical role.
The acquisition also expands Prometheus Group’s enterprise software portfolio, following previous acquisitions that have strengthened its maintenance, mobility, and operational technology capabilities.
Looking Ahead
With the addition of VisualAIM’s technology, Prometheus Group continues to broaden its Asset Performance Management platform by combining predictive analytics, mechanical integrity, inspection workflows, and intelligent engineering drawings into a single solution. The company expects the expanded platform to help industrial organizations improve inspection management, connect engineering and operational data, and gain greater visibility into the performance of critical assets.
This acquisition reflects Prometheus Group’s ongoing strategy of expanding its enterprise asset management capabilities through targeted technology investments while providing customers with more comprehensive solutions for managing industrial assets.
